5 St. Patrick's Day Facts

That's right! Today is St. Patrick's Day!  If you're getting ready to hit the Irish Pubs tonight, here is a little ammo for when the cops pull you over... Tell them these easy to remember, fun facts and they'll let you off the hook...If you're lucky ;)
  • The very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland. It was in Boston in 1737.
  • In Chicago, on St. Patrick's Day, the rivers are dyed green.
  • Many people wear green on this holiday to avoid being pinched. The actual color of St. Patrick is blue.
  • Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.
  • As my good friend, Rose debates, in Irish beliefs, St. Patrick carried around a 3-leaf clover. It represented the Holy Trinity and the 3 phases of the moon.
